Hey Friend!
Welcome to The Studio Sociable !!! This is my mid-month inbox pop-in, where I hope we can just have some fun and, as the title suggests…get social! In this newsletter, I want to share some scenes from my studio, update you on social happenings and offerings and invite you to go a little deeper with me.
I’m settling into a rhythm now of twice-a-month emails, and I’m really liking this groove. It feels so much more like an authentic connection to me than just randomly blasting things out into the universe on Instagram. What do you think? I’d love to hear your response👇🏻
Here’s what’s happening lately…
I decided to commit to the #The100DayProject. This is a challenge to create something every day for 100 straight days. In order to keep it manageable, I decided to use Posca Pens (acrylic paint markers) for the challenge. I’ve been sharing my weekly progress on IG Reels if you want to follow along.
I made another commitment. 🤩 It’s something I’ve been wanting to do for a very long time. In fact, many of you have encouraged me to use my work in this way. I’m doing a surface pattern design course called Immersion. This basically means I’m learning the technical skill of turning my artwork into versions that can be printed on surfaces like wallpaper, fabric, rugs, gift wrap, journals, etc. The possibilities are endless, and I’m so excited about it. I would love your support and encouragement because it is, as I mentioned, a very technical skill to learn, and while I love to learn, this one will push me to my limits! Here is a glimpse at some beginner skills I’m learning this week. I mean, look at that left-hand toolbar! 😵💫
These little lovelies were delivered to a client from Charleston Artist Collective. They were undecided about frame color, so I was able to present them with these mockups to help make the decision. In case you’re curious…they picked the white frames.

And I can’t really leave without including a pic of my faithful studio partner, Yeti. He’s always right on hand when I need him and willing to pose for pics or support me with “therapy rubs” during my daily ups and downs in the studio.
If you’re new to my email list and this is your first newsletter, Welcome!! 🙋🏼♀️ If you’re not new, this may interest you as well. I recently shared a week-long “peek inside” on my social channels to help acquaint us better. Go check it out; this is the first of seven posts you may want to read.
On the first of this month, I shared in The Soulful Series newsletter about my latest art ministry outreach called The Prayer of the Month Club. I was blown away by the response, and the April selection has now been painted. Now is the time to submit your prayers for May! I would be honored to pray with you and then multiply that prayer with others and remind them of God’s Truth + Faithfulness!
**Also, as a sidebar….Instagram keeps shadow-banning (hiding) my posts about this, and it is breaking my heart! We live in a world trying to suppress things like prayer which makes me even more emboldened to press on. I need co-laborers for the kingdom on this one, so would you join me in sharing about this art ministry with others you think may be in need or interested by forwarding this email?
This week, I celebrated my 3-Year anniversary with the Charleston Artist Collective. I joined them just as COVID began here in the US, and in spite of that chaos, our partnership has flourished, praise God!
