Art + Soul — A Studio Journal & Sacred Space
You’ve arrived at the home of Art + Soul, the studio journal, newsletter, and Christian community of artist Michelle Owenby, including the paid membership space The Lovely Crux.
This is a soul-centered sanctuary where beauty, faith, and reflection meet—where creativity becomes communion, and reflection leads to renewal.
In the rush of daily life, it’s easy to forget that we were created not just to do, but to be—to rest, to worship, to delight in the presence of the Lord. Art + Soul exists to offer a slower rhythm: space to experience a moment of peace, reflection, and renewal.
I hope you’ll accept this invitation to slow down, linger in His presence, rediscover wonder, and rest in His love.
The Rhythm of This Space
At the heart of this space is a meditative practice called The Weekly Pause.
Each week, I share a single prayerful offering rooted in scripture, artwork (sometimes finished, sometimes in process), and quiet reflection. These posts are intentionally spacious, unhurried, and peaceful—meant to be returned to, not kept up with.
Free subscribers receive The Weekly Pause: reflection, scripture, artwork, prayer, and a closing blessing.
Paid members of The Lovely Crux are invited into a deeper layer of this same weekly practice through a guided audio meditation, extended prayer prompts, and longer pauses—an offering meant for dwelling more deeply, not consuming more content.
There is no pressure here. This rhythm is designed to support presence, not performance.

A Little More About Me
I’m Michelle Owenby—artist, writer, and steward of this creative ministry.
Art + Soul, my art studio practice, and The Lovely Crux community are part of my life mission and ministry. God has called me to redeem the time, to steward the gifts He’s given me, and to participate—humbly and faithfully—in what He is creating.
Any beauty that comes from this work is only possible because of His grace.
My hope is to connect you to the sacred beauty woven through everyday life and to remind us that the world can be changed one prayer at a time—right here, together.
On my Art + Soul journey, one particular piece of scripture has continually captured, inspired, and encouraged my soul. I pray it will do the same for you as we go on this journey together.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
Galatians 5:22-23
Regardless of your decision, thank you for allowing me to share this journey with you and for being such a vital part of this beautiful community of soulful people. It’s an honor and privilege for me to serve the Lord in this way, and it wouldn’t happen without people like you! I’m so very grateful.
