Today, we are bombarded with ideas and expectations about how we should look and feel and who we should be. From social media to what we see on TV, messages come at us from every direction, offering quick fixes, but in reality, they communicate that we don’t measure up.
Women need to see that this is not the way God intended us to live. The goal isn’t to be perfect here but to shape our thought lives to be more reflective of who God says we are and all that He has for us. In this module, we will unpack our thought lives, take steps to renew our minds, and focus on who God wants us to be, not who the world wants us to be.
Tools & Challenges for Growth

Print it to use as a bookmark.
Write it down in your journal or on index cards.
Pray it out loud each day throughout the month.
Challenge yourself to recite it without peeking.

As you read or when you’re finished with the book, write a summary of the key insights God gave you and any applications to your life. Think through the following questions:
In what ways did God encourage or challenge me through this book?
Are there any new truths I need to apply to my life?
Personal Challenge:
What Lies Are You Believing - What lies do you believe about yourself that run counter to what God believes about you? In what areas do you struggle to believe that you measure up to everyone else? Where do you think you’re good enough to pursue something further? Take some time to think through those questions and the lies that surround them and write them down. Once you have your list, find Scriptures that tell you the truth about those areas of your life and how God can equip you to replace the lies you believe with truths that can set you free. Spend time each day meditating on those Scriptures and journaling any changes you notice in your thought life.
Marriage Focus (if applicable):
Emotional Bank Account - You and your husband are to work through the list of activities described on the handout and note which make deposits and which make withdrawals in each of your emotional bank accounts. Then you’ll pick the top and bottom three and talk about them, increasing your understanding of each other and what makes life bitter and sweet. Share your top three and bottom three and what happened because of the exercise. Download Handout here.
Growth Partner Challenge:
Share with your growth partner a few of the lies you believe about yourself and the Scriptures you’re praying to counteract those lies. Ask how you can pray for each other as you continue the process of renewing your mind.
