At one time or another, anyone who wants to grow has asked, “How am I wired?” How can we better interact with others who are so different from us? Whether it is with our spouses, our children, our siblings, our co-workers, our friends, or neighbors, it is so easy to misunderstand others simply because they’re wired differently than us.
Every one of us has a unique design and personality. We each have God-given talents, and we’re told that each of us has at least one spiritual gift. When we discover this wiring and move with it, we feel like we’re swimming downstream. But figuring ourselves out, and then deciding what to do with what we learn is challenging, to say the least.
This module helps us learn about ourselves and how we can better relate to our spouses and others.
Tools & Challenges for Growth
Scripture Memory:
One of the best ways to grow spiritually is simply by memorizing scripture and praying it back to God. Bury His Word in your heart:
Use the wallpaper below to put on your phone (press + hold your finger on the pic).
Print it to use as a bookmark.
Write it down in your journal or on index cards.
Pray it out loud each day throughout the month.
Challenge yourself to recite it without peeking.
Quiet Time:
Make it your goal to have quiet time 5 times per week.

As you read or when you’re finished with the book, write a summary of the key insights God gave you and any applications to your life. Think through the following questions:
In what ways did God encourage or challenge me through this book?
Are there any new truths I need to apply to my life?
Personal Challenge:
How Am I Wired? - Go to
https://rm.impact.app, click Sign-Up to create a profile and then complete the three assessments (16-Personality, DISC, and Enneagram) in the My Personality section of Your Profile, plus the Spiritual Gifts assessment. Study the feedback reports, discover insights about yourself, and how you plan to allow God to do His work in and through you as a result.
Marriage Focus (if applicable):
Where Can I Improve? - Coming from a place of honesty, patience, and love, ask your spouse to tell you three things that cause him to be uncomfortable or irritated with you, areas you can exhibit improvement. You must do so without attacking him for his answer or justifying your behavior. Listen and write in your journal exactly what he says. Do not make any promises you aren’t prepared to keep and please don’t make any promises before you pray about what he’s told you. Come prepared to share what he told you and how you’re responding.
Growth Partner Challenge:
Share your experiences from the Where Can I Improve? conversation. Note any common themes. Help your growth partner other develop your action plans and responses to the things your husband mentioned. Challenge each other to raise your game. Then share what you discovered from your assessment. What did you learn about yourself that was interesting? Kick around thoughts about what God may be telling you about yourself through this exercise.
