Every one of us wants to have a purpose. We want our lives to matter, to count for something. But the problem is we’ve landed on a one-size-fits-all answer to these questions. We automatically answer the question with “to glorify God.” But what do I do with that? How do I “glorify God” and still be me? It seems too trite and universal to have much meaning, doesn’t it?
In this module, you will discover the importance of living life on purpose. You’ll be challenged to think through how God has uniquely gifted you and how you can be intentional in fulfilling what He has equipped and called you to do.
For some of you, the light will come on quickly, and you’ll immediately start to flourish in your purpose-driven life. For others, this will be the start of a project that will take many years and many revisions. But it’s worth it. Short of knowing Jesus and having eternal security, few things rival knowing why you were put here on this earth.
Tools & Challenges for Growth
Scripture Memory:
One of the best ways to grow spiritually is simply by memorizing scripture and praying it back to God. Bury His Word in your heart:
Use the wallpaper below to put on your phone (press + hold your finger on the pic).
Print it to use as a bookmark.
Write it down in your journal or on index cards.
Pray it out loud each day throughout the month.
Challenge yourself to recite it without peeking.
Quiet Time:
Make it your goal to have quiet time 5 times per week.

The Purpose Driven Life: What on Earth Am I Here For? - Rick Warren
Other Book Choices:
Restless: Because You Were Made for More - Jennie Allen
Chazown, Revised and Updated Edition: Discover and Pursue God's Purpose for Your Life - Craig Groeschel
As you read or when you’re finished with the book, write a summary of the key insights God gave you and any applications to your life. Think through the following questions:
In what ways did God encourage or challenge me through this book?
Are there any new truths I need to apply to my life?

Marriage Focus (if applicable):
Discussing Your Purpose - This month, plan a date night either out of the house or at home when you can get the kids to bed early. Use this time to discuss with your husband how you think God has uniquely gifted you and how you can use that gifting to carry out your purpose. Sharing this can give your husband insight into where you are right now spiritually and how he can pray for and encourage you daily.
Note: You can also ask if he’s interested in completing the Developing Your Life Purpose exercise. If he is, use your time together to discuss how your purposes align and how they are different and give some thought to how you can encourage one another to live out your individual purposes.
Growth Partner Challenge:
Share the first draft of your life purpose statements with each other. Recognize that this will likely be a long-term effort and your first draft will likely be a starting point, not necessarily the end point. Ask your growth partner if it sounds like you, based on their exposure to you. Talk through different options of how God could engage someone whose purpose in life is like yours. Think creatively. God certainly did when He made you!
