Definition of Kindness
: the quality or state of being kind
WEEK 1: INSPIRATION
When the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy.
Titus 3:4-5 NIV
This week take time to read and meditate on God’s Word.
Study what this passage is saying.
Dig a little deeper by doing a SOAP.
Consider trying to memorize it. Write it on an index card or post-it note and place it somewhere you will frequently see it.
WEEK 2: REFLECTION
Kindness is an inner disposition; it is the sincere desire for the happiness of others. The Spirit makes us sensitive to the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of those around us and provides opportunties for us to express it in small ways like a simple smile, thank you or words of encouragement or recognition. Without the Spirit, most of us naturally tend to be mostly concerned with our own needs.
The kindness of God was extended even to the most despicable: the ungrateful and wicked (Luke 6:35). This same scripture shows us that he doesn’t turn His back on the them but loves them without any expectation. Isn’t this a sobering view of the contrast between our disposition and His?!
