I recently had the most pleasurable opportunity to prepare a feature for In Her Studio magazine. The local gallery that I am affiliated with, Charleston Artist Collective, has presented me with opportunities that I otherwise would have never been afforded and I am so grateful.
The PR firm the gallery uses reached out to ask me if this feature would be something I would consider and I was thrilled because this is a magazine that I have enjoyed myself for quite some time. I love getting a peek inside how and where other creatives work and this magazine is all about that! However, there was one catch and it was that they wanted me to provide the copy. Fortunately, I truly love to write and so I saw this as a great challenge and joy!
Shortly after going over the details of the contract, we all got to work putting this feature together. I quickly called up my precious friend and neighbor, Christine Hamrick to come capture some current images of my studio life and I began writing the copy for the article. All the while Byrdhouse PR was working their magic as liaison and facilitating all the communications.
It came together fairly quickly and is hitting mailboxes and newsstands now. I am so pleased to share it with you now. I’d love to know what you think. Let me know in the comments below!
Thank you so much to In Her Studio magazine, the Charleston Artist Collective and Byrdhouse for the opportunity for this feature. And thanks for the beautiful photography by Christine Hamrick Photography.
