Gentle Beginnings
The sacred invitation to slow down, breathe deep, and approach the throne of grace.
Hello, my friend!
You’re here.
You’ve made space.
And I believe that is no small thing.
In a world that moves fast, demands more, and rarely leaves room for soul work, you’ve chosen something different.
You’ve chosen to dwell, to abide.
You don’t have to show up perfectly. Just come with an open heart. God meets us in our showing up.
🕊 What is The Lovely Crux?
This isn’t just another subscription or a place to consume content.
This is communion. This is renewal.
A quiet space set apart from the noise.
A table laid with beauty, scripture, prayer, and rest.
A circle of kindred spirits learning to live slowly, soulfully, and Spirit-led.
On this journey, we’ll walk together through rhythms of reflection:
Looking up to Christ
Looking in with honesty
Looking out with love
Each week will offer a new meditation, sacred prompt, or prayer practice—sometimes all three—alongside a gathering thread in our Virtual Prayer Room where we share what’s stirring in our hearts and things we’re praying for.
+ A Gentle Beginning
This week, we begin simply.
Light a candle.
Sit quietly for 3 minutes (set a timer if you need to).
Whisper this breath prayer:
“Lord, prepare me to dwell with You in deeper ways.”
+ Scripture Meditation
“Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls.”
—Jeremiah 6:16
This is the crux: the beautiful tension between stillness and movement, between being and becoming.
TLC exists to remind us of the ancient path: the way of rest, of trust, of beauty as we draw on the presence of God.
+ Beauty Reflection (Visio Divina)
Sometimes, we need to see with more than our eyes. Visio Divina is a way of prayerfully gazing—of noticing what stirs in us as we sit with an image. You don’t need to analyze or interpret. Just come with a willingness to pay attention. Let it speak. And then, simply rest. You don’t have to figure anything out. Just sit in the presence of God.
What is God inviting you to choose this week?
Are you finding paths that lead to Him?
+ Prayer Prompts (for your journal, your prayer time, or your heart)
What am I laying down as I enter this space?
What do I long to receive from God in this season?
Lord, prepare my heart to receive ________________.
I lay down the burden of __________________________________.
I long for more of You in ______________________.
