and your dominion endures through all generations. The Lord is trustworthy in all he promises
and faithful in all he does.Psalm 145:13 NIV
This week take time to read and meditate on God’s Word.
Study what this passage is saying.
Dig a little deeper by doing a SOAP.
Consider trying to memorize it. Write it on an index card or post-it note and place it somewhere you will frequently see it.
WEEK 2: REFLECTION
Consider the absolute necessity of the faithfulness of God. We are dependent on His faithfulness for so much: our final salvation, deliverance from temptation, our ultimate sanctification, the forgiveness of our sins and for the fulfillment of our hope of eternal life. Not one part of being a Christ-follower does not rest on God’s faithfulness. It is impossible to describe any act of God without in some way touching on His faithfulness to His own. In becoming more and more like Christ, we must not only profess our faith but also demonstrate it.
This week take some time to journal what faithfulness is as demonstrated in the Scriptures and consider how you are practicing it in your own life.
WEEK 3: CONNECTION
The first step in growing in faithfulness is understanding the Biblical standard. It means absolute honesty, utter dependability, and unswerving loyalty. It means to be neither corrupt nor negligent (like Daniel 6:34) and to have convictions consistent with the Word of God. Ask the Holy Spirit to highlight some of these areas for you and empower you to be faithful.
Do you seek to be scrupulously honest? (Proverbs 12:22)
What sorts of situations tempt you to deceive others?
When have you needed to follow through on commitments in the past couple of weeks and keep your word? How dependable were you? (Psalm 15)
Can others depend on you even when it costs you something?
Will you stick by a friend who is in difficulty and confront them when they’re wrong?
